Meet our Board of Directors

The foundation’s Board of Directors currently consists of nine members, including two founding members. The Board represents a careful blend of clinical, legal, business management and non-profit backgrounds, as well as specialists in receiving addicts. Efforts are underway to expand the board to include members with further expertise in non-profit personnel, finance, grant writing and fundraising.

Shawn Baugher

Board Member
Shawn is a Founder/Owner of 805 Videos, a digital media and video production company in Santa Barbara. He has been a therapist and social worker and has always had the desire to help people.

Angie Bryan,
LMFT

Board Member
Licensed Marriage Family Therapist specializing in substance use intervention, treatment, recovery support, and relapse prevention, especially in young adult populations (18-24). Additional expertise working with family members of young adults with SUDs, as well as working with young adults from families with parental/familial alcohol or drug use (ACOA).

Nancy Gottlieb

Board Member
Clinical Director CADA
Nancy is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and a licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in both California and Nevada. Nancy has 38 years of experience working in the field of mental health and substance misuse disorders.

Joseph B. Hamblen

Board President
Mr. Hamblen is a graduate of the University of California with over thirty years of experience in the field of recovery. He worked closely with Ryan in the foundation’s initial conception and is the current board president.

Mark Hancock, CRTP

Board Member
Mark has over 25 years of experience with nonprofits, foundations, and social enterprise. Prior to leading Build Advisory full-time, Mark served as the primary operations, finance, and legal adviser to a public health charity with programs in 30 countries. He is C.E.O. of Build Advisory, (a tax and management consulting firm for nonprofits and philanthropy. Mark is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Syracuse University College of Law,, and holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in taxation with distinction from the Georgetown Law School,

Frank H. Leone

Board Secretary/Treasurer
Mr. Leone is a retired former CEO of a high profile national healthcare consulting group. He holds an MBA in Marketing and an M.P.H in healthcare administration. As Secretary/treasurer of the board, he is particularly focused on strategic activity and financial oversight. Frank is Ryan Leone’s father.

Camilla A. Lettini

Board Member
2015 graduate from the USC School of Social Work, concentration mental health with a sub-concentration in Military Families, licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in February 2019. Also certified as Drug and Alcohol Counselor through CAADE as a CATC-IV, Master’s Level Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor.

Dr. Karen Hord

Board Member
Dr. Karen Hord is board Certified in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, with post-graduate training in public health and quality measurement. She has worked in medicine for over 30 years, including primary care, emergency care, substance use disorders, and public health management. Dr. Hord recently served as Chief Medical Officer for a County Medicaid Insurance Plan in Central California and is in a leadership role with the Presbyterian Health Plan.

Angeli Mancuso

Board Member
Angeli is a community and occupational health nurse leader in both the domestic and international arenas. Certified in occupational health and case management, she has extensive experience in disaster response, safety, and clinic operations.

Alexandra Smith

Board Member
Ms. Smith is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst currently completing her doctorate in Organizational Leadership. She offers considerable experience working with non-profits in the area of harm reduction.

David F. Webb

Ex Officio member
Mr. Webb is a retired Houston-based attorney. A graduate of the University of Texas and Harvard Law School, he began his career with the prestigious Houston law firm Fulbright & Jaworski and spent many years working in the office of two different Houston mayors and in private practice.

Dr. Steven G. Crawford

Ex Officio member
Dr. Crawford is a New Jersey based Internist, with subspecialties in sports medicine, addiction medicine and occupational medicine. He provides clinical input to the board.
